This workshop blends traditional mending techniques with some modern tricks to mend your jeans into wearable art.
In this 2 1/2 hour, online, denim mending workshop, we’ll begin by learning about the specific materials used for visible mending, the basic technique of sashiko, a Japanese style of stitching, and how this technique applies to specific types of repairs (i.e. the crotch/upper thigh mend).
Each participant will create their own sashiko stitched denim patch as practice, and learn how to prep a mending area and several options for pattern transfer.
A great class for beginners and seasoned hand stitchers alike, this workshop combines elements of texture, color and function to create your own one of a kind patch, or denim mending project.
Please sign up at least 7 days before your class is scheduled so we have time to send you the class materials.
