POTTERY CLASS: Clay! - Make Your Own Mug

Each participant will make a mug using "slab method" and the slab roller. Using the slab technique we will incorporate layers of texture in the clay with a variety of objects and discuss forming the handle and attaching clay together by score-n-slip.

This class is intended for those with no clay experience and would like to try it out and learn the process for making an excellent mug. Each participant will have their piece returned in 4-5 weeks (to be picked up at Monster) with a clear glaze over the white clay.

Our address is 1716 NW Market Street, Seattle, WA 98107

4 people minimum, 10 maximum. Ages 15 and up.

If you cannot attend class for any reason, we will offer an exchange to another class currently on our schedule up to 48 hours before the class. After that time, no refunds or exchanges are issued out of respect for our teachers who purchase and prepare supplies based on the number of attendees.

Our current Covid protocol is that anyone attending an event can email us at Info@monstermonster.shop to let us know they prefer that people wear masks up to 72 hours before the event begins. Your request is anonymous to all the other participants.

Attendees will receive an email before the class to let them know If we will be requiring masks be worn.

    Mug making at its best!

The mug making class at Monster was super fun and easy. The teacher was great, connecting with other creatives was fun, and the mug turned out amazing. I look forward to future classes at Monster!

    Very rewarding!

I really enjoyed this class. Laura is a good teacher - *super* well organized with printed instructions, pre-cut/measured components, all the tools we needed close by. That helped us get the most out of our class time. She was super supportive of ideas that people brought to class and great at explaining stuff. I loved how my mug turned out. Recommend!

    Very fun class!

Instructor was super patient with this slower-than-the-others student (me), resulting in my very unique mug. So fun to see the variety of ways other students decorated their mugs. Highly recommend! As another reviewer mentioned, an extra 15 minutes beyond "official" class end would be nice and was all I needed to finish my mug. Instructor was still cleaning up so it was not a problem for me to stay.

The class was overall good, could have maybe used ~15m more for the class time. I don't think I have seen anything about when I will be able to pick up the final fired mug.
