Have you mastered basic darned patches, and feel ready to learn some more advanced darning methods? Yay you!
Join Erin Eggenburg of wrenbirdarts for darning class and take your knit repair to the next left in this intermediate darning workshop! In this 3 hour workshop, we will cover how-to darn in pattern, shape, and the elusive duplicate stitch technique. Surface Patterns taught will include: twill, plaid, chevron, and learn the technique to repair missing stitches and holes with swiss darning.
Students will leave this workshop with new ideas for darning, embellishing, and extending the live of beloved clothing.
Bring your items in need of darning, or use the provided scrap knits to practice these your freshly learned darning skills. Lots of thread and yarn will be provided, but bring your own if you want to work with a particular color or type of yarn. Darning needles also provided.
Please note: a basic understanding of darning is a prerequisite for this workshop. Before signing up, you should be able to darn a hole, this will not be covered in class. We are also offering a Beginner Darning class that will give you the skills you need to attend the advanced class.

If you cannot attend class for any reason, we will offer an exchange to another class currently on our schedule up to 48 hours before the class. After that time, no refunds or exchanges are issued out of respect for our teachers who purchase and prepare supplies based on the number of attendees.
Our current Covid protocol is that anyone attending an event can email us at Info@monstermonster.shop to let us know they prefer that people wear masks up to 72 hours before the event begins. Your request is anonymous to all the other participants.
Attendees will receive an email before the class to let them know If we will be checking vaccination records and requiring masks be worn.
