    About the Instructor

Jonathan Berner began his knitting journey in 2008 with the intention of creating his own clothing to contribute to environmental sustainability. He soon discovered a profound appreciation for the historical, engineering, and artistic aspects of working with yarn.

As his exploration into fiber arts expanded, encompassing spinning, weaving, and wool processing, Jonathan decided to turn his passion for yarn into a career in 2013. Encouraged by his yarn community friends, he ventured into dyeing yarn, making his first sale to Shuttles, Spindles, and Skeins in Boulder, Colorado, in January 2014. By June of the same year, he took the leap, leaving his conventional job to fully immerse himself in the world of yarn.

In 2018, Jonathan returned to his hometown of Seattle, Washington, where he began showcasing his yarn at Pike Place Market. Whether at the market or online at YarnDragon.com, you can explore a diverse range of yarn, knitwear, and meticulously crafted handmade wooden yarn tools.

Now operating under the name Yarn Dragon, Jonathan and his team are excited to continue their passion for dyeing yarn, creating crochet hooks, and crafting knitwear. With a new identity but the same commitment to the art of yarn, Yarn Dragon looks forward to a promising future in the wonderful world of fiber arts.
