DIY - Paint By Number Kit - Coretta Scott King

    4 items left

Paint By Number Kits ship for $10 to US destinations and $20 to International destinations. They are also available for local pick up at our Ballard store.

Coretta Scott King (1927 – 2006) was an activist and author in her own right who came to be known as the “First Lady of the Civil Rights Movement.” When MLK Jr. was assassinated in 1968, Coretta carried on his work. Under her leadership, the King Center for Nonviolent Social Change was founded in Atlanta. She expanded the civil rights platform to include women’s and LGBT rights and came out against the Vietnam war. It was through her relentless petitioning that we now commemorate MLK Jr. Day each January. After her death, Antioch College (her alma mater) dedicated the Coretta Scott King Center for Cultural and Intellectual Freedom to “facilitate learning, dialogue, and action to advance social justice.”

“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by

the compassionate actions of its members.”

“Coretta Scott King” features the civil rights activist and wife of Martin Luther King Jr. The pre-printed, full-color background surrounds Coretta with billowing clouds. Completing the painting can take between 3-5 hours. When completed, select a frame at your local craft store and display! Recommended for ages 13 and up.
